Save the Depot Committee Goals

The save he depot committee is now working on raising awareness and funds to support the stabilization of the depot structure. We are looking in to many grant options, most of which require matching funds. We have had a representative attend the following meetings: Big Stone Area Growth, Clinton City Council, County Commissioners, 4-H, Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley School Board, Big Stone County Historical Society, as well as others. This has been our way of spreading our project and ideas, networking, and getting important resources and ideas. We have had several movers and a contractor who specializes in restoration projects look over the depot. The main goal is to fix the foundation and stop the water from getting underneath the building. There are future projects and future grants that will be included in a long term business plan. We are working with 4-H and the school district to come up with field trip and long-term use ideas.
